Drop and Osservatorio eCommerce B2C (Politecnico) celebrate 10 years of partnership, anticipating trends and contributing to the future of digital retail.

It seems like yesterday! Yet, 10 years have already passed!

 

We celebrate a decade of collaboration with the Osservatorio eCommerce B2C of the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano.

At the time, when we first became interested in the Politecnico's Observatory, e-commerce had just recovered from the "lost decade" after the dot-com bubble burst. For many years, at least in Italy, it seemed like a business for creative nerds, hindered by the Italian's distrust of using credit cards online.

In those years... let's say between 2010 and 2015, we had finally started to consider e-commerce far beyond the concept of "site," associating it with more complex processes and areas integrated into corporate business. We deepened and integrated into our offering processes related to omnichannelforecasting and BIcross-selling techniques, cross-border issues, and more...

We decided to participate in the B2C Observatory as a contributor when we reached maturity on all fronts. Finally, after years as "creatives," we could also go back to being engineers (an area from which many of us at Drop come). It is precisely the synergy between these two souls (creative and engineering) that in the last 10 years has allowed us to evolve, grow, and keep pace with what I would call the "digital epic" that has changed the world and has also changed us.
